About Koonambil Aged Care

Koonambil was created by the community for the community over 30 years ago. It remains a community-owned, not-for-profit provider of residential aged care, respite and retirement living. Our role is larger than operating a service: we help older people remain connected to family, culture, community and country while supporting local employment and the long-term strength of our communities.

Our Committees

At Koonambil, our committees play an important role in supporting good governance, continuous improvement and meaningful resident engagement. Working alongside our Board of Directors and Leadership Team, these committees help ensure Koonambil remains focused on delivering high-quality care, positive resident experiences and long-term sustainability.

GROW Committee - Governance, Risk, Outcomes & Wellbeing

The GROW Committee supports the Board of Directors in overseeing the quality, safety and continuous improvement of care and services at Koonambil. It focuses on clinical governance, resident wellbeing, workforce matters, risk management and ensuring our services meet the needs and expectations of the people we care for.

FARM Committee - Finance, Audit & Risk Management

The FARM Committee supports the Board of Directors in overseeing Koonambil’s financial performance, organisational risk and long-term sustainability. It provides guidance on financial planning, audit, investment and capital development to ensure our resources are managed responsibly for the ongoing benefit of our residents and community.

Consumer Advisory Body (CAB) - Our Resident Committee

The Consumer Advisory Body provides residents with a meaningful voice in shaping life at Koonambil. Led by residents, the committee provides an opportunity to share ideas, raise concerns and contribute to decisions about care, services, activities and the living environment. Resident feedback and recommendations help guide continuous improvement and ensure Koonambil remains a place where everyone feels heard, respected and valued.
